Portrait commission of Alice in Carrara marble, direct carving
This portrait sculpture was commissioned in 2013 when Alice was 1. British portrait sculptor Matt Harvey carved this directly into carrara marble from Italy. This marble was used by all the italian renaissance sculptors including Michelangelo and is known for its beautiful crystalline whiteness and consistency
